Unity has acquired the authors of the Everyplay service, which allows you to record the gameplay in mobile games, the reaction to user events using the front camera, as well as embed video ads.

The official press release says that the deal will allow Applicier to invest in Everyplay faster.

In an interview with Pocket Gamer, Aplifier’s executive director Jussi Laakkonen also admitted that he plans to simplify the integration of the Everyplay SDK for those who work on Unity in the near future.

According to Unity’s executive director David Helgason, the purchase of the Applicator will not make Everyplay an exclusive toolkit of the company that created one of the most popular game engines.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed, but it is known that Jussi becomes the executive vice president of Unity after signing the documents.

Recode notes that this is the second major announcement related to mobile gaming video. Last week it became known that Twitch plans to create a mobile version of the service. However, according to Laakkonen, Everyplay will not have competition with the American streaming network. Jussi claims that Twitch mainly works with game broadcasts, and Everyplay with videos that you can “share and watch later.”

We, in turn, see that the purchase of Applicier is one of Unity’s steps to create its own advertising network, which the company officially announced the start of work on last year.

At the moment, the Everyplay service supports 300 games, its base consists of 7 million registered users.
