Paris-based Green Panda Games is now 70% owned by Ubisoft. The company has completed a deal to purchase shares of the mobile publisher.
The authors of Assassin’s Creed and Watch Dogs are interested in creating a “diverse and high-quality line of mobile games.” To this end, they are buying up mobile studios, for example, Ketchapp and 1492 Studios. Green Panda Games, as Ubisoft expects, will strengthen their position in the hyper-casual market (especially in the idle games segment).
Under the terms of the deal, in the next four years Ubisoft will be able to buy out the remaining 30% of Green Panda Games shares and become its full owner. This is reported by Gamesindustry.biz .
Green Panda Games has been around since 2013. Since then, it has launched such mobile titles as Sushi Bar, Terrarium, Bee Factory and Golf Inc Tycoon. According to the information on the Green Panda Games website, the audience of its games has exceeded 50 million people.
