Longtail Studios, which has been called Ubisoft Halifax since its purchase, was created in 2004 by Ubisoft co-founder Gerard Guillemot. Until now, the studio has been developing projects for PC and consoles. The team has only two mobile games on its account, and the last one was released in 2010.
Nevertheless, under the leadership of the new owners, the studio will produce projects for mobile. Ubisoft management announced that they expect AAA-quality mobile games from the Canadian team. The acquisition of the studio is part of an extensive program aimed at increasing Ubisoft’s presence in the mobile games market.
Ubisoft’s Halifax studio is currently expanding. It is assumed that the team will have 10 new employees. At the moment, the studio is working on a mobile project, the details of which are still unknown.
