The author of Galaxy on Fire named two reasons why working on a PC project is better than working on a mobile game.
In the interview 80.lv The CEO of Rockfish Studios, Michael Schade, talking about his latest project, Everspace, noted why, after the mobile Galaxy on Fire, he took up the creation of a paid PC game.
The first reason: free-2-play
“Today, the mobile market is mainly fritupley,” says Sade. – “It’s not to say that it’s [developing similar projects] in our DNA, so we’re happy to develop for PC, where microtransactions don’t play such a fundamental role.”
The second reason: graphics
“In terms of detail [when transferring concepts to the engine], we don’t have to change much. Thanks to Unreal Engine 4, our artists can go crazy because there are almost no [technical] limitations.”
Sade also stated that when creating the visual image of Everspace, his team was largely based on the “Guardians of the Galaxy” by James Gunn.
The game is scheduled for release in October 2016. By the end of the first week on Kickstarter, the project had gained €167,042 (out of the required €225,000).
