The social network Twitter, in partnership with Electronic Sports League (ESL) and the organizer of esports competitions DreamHack, will conduct video clips from the competitions.

In 2017, starting from March 4, 15 tournaments will be streamed on the service. In addition, ESL will launch a weekly show on Twitter with reruns of bright episodes and behind-the-scenes filming.

Free video broadcasts will be accompanied by advertising, which will allow you to insert sponsored content into replays and critical moments of matches.

“Esports is developing rapidly, and we want to expand the audience of interested gamers who use Twitter as the main channel of information,” said Anthony Noto, Twitter’s chief operating officer.

Twitter’s entry into the esports broadcasting market may displace the position of the Twitch gaming video streaming service.
