THQ Nordic Holding (not to be confused with the publisher of the same name, which it owns) he announced three major acquisitions at once.

Gunfire Games

The first purchase is Gunfire Games studio — the author of Darksiders III. It also includes employees who stood at the origins of the series. The last games of the franchise were released with the participation of THQ Nordic.

Now the entire Gunfire team of 63 people and all IP rights are transferred to the publisher THQ Nordic. The amount of this transaction was not disclosed.

Goodbye Kansas Game Invest

The next purchase is the investment Goodbye Kansas Game Invest (GKGI). As in the case of Gunfire Games, it was not purchased directly. This time — through the subsidiary THQ Nordic Lager 1 AB for $4.4 million.

With this deal, THQ Nordic will strengthen its platform for investing in game studios. Together with GKGI, the holding has already received a portfolio of minority investments in Palindrome Interactive, Fall Damage, Neon Giant, Kavalri and Framebunker studios, as well as license rights to Biomutant (the game has not yet been released).

Milestone

The latest acquisition is Milanese Milestone. She specializes in racing simulators. THO Nordic bought it through Koch Media for $50.2 million, but the value of the deal could almost double if it fulfills a number of tasks. Milestone currently has five projects in development.

Along with the announcement of the purchase of new divisions, THQ Nordic Holding announced its renaming. Now it is called Embracer Group. The new entity still includes the Koch Media (Deep Silver), Coffee Stain and THQ Nordic Gmbh groups.

Let’s add that the group also includes 18 internal development studios. Their total staff is 2500 people.
