The St. Petersburg space for novice developers “Indicator” is being liquidated. This was stated by its founder Sergey Gimelreich on his Facebook page.

The “Indicator” was a platform where meetings and lectures of game developers were held on a regular basis. It officially ceases to function from January 2020.

Gimelreich writes that he can no longer independently support the company for personal reasons. He also complains that large gaming companies were not ready to become partners of the “Indicator”.

According to him, he understands why they did not meet him halfway: “Indicator” is a non—commercial story that was not “rigidly monetized.” From a business point of view, she was hardly of interest to anyone.

However, as Sergey writes, at the launch stage two years ago, he hoped that it would be able to live on donations from established companies, because the space was a “story about people”, a launching pad for novice teams,.

As far as it is clear from the post, this was the case at first: about a year ago, the site moved to a new location thanks to the financial support of Pride Games.
