According to VentureBeat, it was possible to count the content thanks to the new design of the Steam library. Now the number of products in categories will be displayed next to the search keywords.
The publication also emphasizes that such a wide range of games in the category should not be perceived in a negative way. Yes, on the one hand, it is difficult to navigate in the store and make a choice from tens of thousands of games. On the other hand, there are non-gaming stores with tens of thousands of positions, for example, books. Readers are unlikely to complain about the “excessively large selection” in the same Amazon.
And note that Steam is testing a new interactive recommendation system and improving search settings. The public test of innovations starts on September 17.
