On February 6, Stoneshard from the Russian Ink Stains Games was released in early Steam access. Now the project is on the 5th place in the regional top of the highest-grossing games of the week.

Two years ago we wrote about the successful launch of Stoneshard on Kickstarter. The game raised the target $30,000 in less than a week, and by the end of the campaign it had raised another $70,000. This is more than the publisher HypeTrain Digital expected.

Stoneshard is a turn—based RPG-roguelike with pixel graphics. It tells about the adventures of a medieval mercenary. The game is designed for fans of hardcore rogue-like, such as ADOM.

Both the publisher and the developers have repeatedly stated that now is the right time for such a project. Their predictions came true: gamers showed interest in Stoneshard first on Kiskstarter, and now on Steam.

By the time the material was published, the game had surpassed Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 in the weekly top “Sales Leaders”. She is also one of the twenty “Sales leaders around the world”.

Players have left 4.8 thousand reviews on Stoneshard, 78% of them are positive. At the same time, a full-fledged release of Stoneshard is planned only in 1.5-2 years. At the early access stage , it contains:

  • about 12 hours of content, including a tutorial;
  • basic gameplay cycle (combat, exploration of two dungeons, leveling, contracts, basic economy);
  • there are 2 villages and 4 types of enemies in total;
  • but more than 100 skills and 200 items.

At the same time, the game lacks a full-fledged story campaign, bosses, crafting and many more mechanics. Ink Stains Games plans to gradually expand the map and fill the game with content, as well as make it more stable, focusing on feedback from early access players.

Ink Stains Games is a developer from St. Petersburg. He works in different genres: before Stoneshard released a 12 shooter from Better Than 6 on Steam. This game was also well received by gamers.
