Despite claims that Plants vs. Zombies 2 players will have to wait at least until the end of summer, yesterday the game appeared in the markets of New Zealand and Australia.

Our colleagues with TouchArcade suggest that the postponement of the release, as well as the current “soft launch”, is due to the fact that the game was not very warmly welcomed at E3. The build shown at the exhibition was distinguished by a strange balance and rigid monetization. In this regard, it is clear that PopCap wants to release the project only in part of the markets.

Another reason for the delay may be the need to test the company’s original cloud service, thanks to which game progress will be maintained between all platforms on which Plants vs. Zombies 2 will appear.

Plus, don’t forget that “soft launch” is the industry standard today.

The first reviews of the game are here.
