Editorial Board App2Top.ru summed up the results of the first prize for achievements in the Russian—speaking gaming industry – App2Top.ru Awards 2021. We talk about how it was and who won.
This year we decided to hold an award for the first time, which would be dedicated to Russian-speaking teams and projects. I wanted to focus on the successes of the domestic industry, which are not often talked about.
The award was held in two stages. Within the framework of the first edition, the nominees were selected based on a number of objective criteria (for example, the availability of transactions, if it was about investors, or the cash register, if it was about mobile games).
The second stage was the voting of experts for the nominees. Participants of the annual interview cycle “Results of the Year” were invited as experts (in it, the editorial board interviews top managers of the gaming industry and related companies about how the year has passed for their companies).
In total, about 120 applications for the results were sent out. We have received confirmations for 80 of them. About 40 participants of the results agreed to participate in the award and vote (we will indicate their names and positions in the publication below).
It was possible to vote for ourselves or for related companies, but in this case we did not take them into account in the final calculation (for example, if company N is part of holding M, and the latter is a nominee in a particular nomination, then we subtracted the vote of company N).
So, the winners:
- Mobile game of the Year — Mech Arena (Plarium);
- Desktop Game of the Year — Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous (Owlcat Games);
- Developer of the Year — Owlcat Games;
- Investor of the year — GEM Capital;
- HR brand of the year — SberGames.
Here is a list of experts who took part in the vote App2Top.ru Awards (we have divided them by the niches in which they are engaged).
