The organizers of the indie developers Indie Cup competition have announced the beginning of the winter season 2022. The first stage — acceptance of works — will last until February 14.
The presentation of the contestants on the event’s website will take place almost immediately after the deadline for accepting applications — on February 24. However, it will be known only in March which of them got into the Indie Cup nominees. The announcement of the winners will take place on April 12.
This time there are 9 nominations: “Best desktop Game“, “Best Mobile Game“, “Rising Star“, “Best Art“, “Best Sound“, “Critics’ Choice“, “Streamers‘ Choice”, “Players‘ Choice” and “Best Unreal Engine Game“.
As in previous seasons, each of the nominations is judged by a separate expert jury. Game artists will choose the best art, composers will choose the best sound, and so on.
The key difference between the current Indie Cup and the previous ones (recall that the competition has been held for 6 years in a row) is the appearance of educational lectures within the framework of the competition. Larian Studios will hold three webinars for indie teams. Their dates and topics will be announced later.
Indie Cup is an Eastern European online competition of independent games. GTP Media holds it twice a year. Partners this season included Kefir, Unreal Engine, Xsolla, Larian, tinyBuild, Ravenage and 101XP.
