On Friday, May 17, a few days ahead of the announced deadline, the acceptance of pre-orders for the NVIDIA Shield portable Android console began.

Initially, the start was scheduled for today. 

Recall that this gadget is a pocket console combined with a gamepad. The folding 5-inch display is based on an IPS matrix and has a resolution of 1280×720. The device is equipped with a Tegra 4 processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal flash memory. It works under Android OS 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean).

The recommended retail price is $349. NVIDIA Shield is expected to go on sale in June.
