TabTale, a publisher and developer of children’s games from Tel Aviv, has acquired the American studio Sunstorm Games. This will add about 5 million MAU to the company’s audience.
Sunstorm Games, like its new owner, specializes in mobile games for children. The studio’s portfolio has a total of about 100 titles.
The management of TabTale admits that they bought the studio not only to replenish the list of games released under their own label, but also to expand their influence on the international market. It is important that Sunstorm Games is located in the USA, since a significant part of TabTale’s products are aimed at an American audience.
The acquisition of Sunstorm Games is TabTale’s third major purchase this year. Earlier, the Israeli company became the owner of the Chinese developer Coco Play and the Serbian game studio Level Bit.
Only projects for preschool and primary school children are produced under the TabTale label. In 2014, the company created the Crazy Labs division, which publishes mobile titles for teenagers and adults.
Note that in September last year, TabTale, according to App Annie, was among the top ten companies in terms of the number of downloaded games.
