At the Mobile World Congress 2013 currently taking place in Barcelona, Microsoft shared the latest figures about its Windows Phone Store. Among the main ones is overcoming the mark of 1 billion downloads.
Currently, the total number of applications in the Windows Phone Store has exceeded 130 thousand. However, only 15 thousand of them fully use the capabilities of Windows Phone 8 launched in October last year.
The number of downloads from the store is also increasing. Since the release of WP8, it has grown by 75%, reaching a total mark of 1 billion, and revenue from the sale of paid applications has risen by 91%.
At the same time, the future of this mobile OC is still difficult to predict, although in some regions it has, as they say, “gone”. Yesterday it became known that in Russia in the second half of 2012, more Windows Phone-based devices were sold than on iOS.
