Three months after the announcement, Epic Games announced the release of the SDK for Epic Online Services. At the start, analytics and a ticket system are available for developers to integrate.

The essence of Epic Online Services is to provide third—party developers with a set of tools that are used inside Epic Games itself to operate Fortnite. Moreover, the whole package is absolutely free to use. Tim Sweeney’s company puts a special emphasis on this.

At the moment, the SDK offers only two tools, the rest will appear as they are polished for a wide range of users.

Available now:

  • Game analytics is the telemetry of the store, revealing the behavior of players, their retention and involvement. Visualized as a dashboard. Updated in real time.
  • A ticket system that allows you to contact players directly through the support tool embedded in it.

On the approach, among others, there will be:

  • Squads is a tool that allows game users to form groups and play together.
  • Matchmaking is a ready—made solution for selecting players for joint matches.
  • Achievements, leaderboards and statistics — this set will allow you to track statistics on the whole game and on private players, as well as reward players and create their ratings.

So far, only PC systems (Windows, Mac and Linux) are supported, but mobile and consoles are on the way. You can embed it in the game on any supported engine. Including those created on Unity.
