Square Enix shipped 3.5 million copies of Final Fantasy VII Remake in the first three days of sales. It is not reported how many of them were for digital copies sold, and how many were for retail deliveries.

The successful launch of the Final Fantasy VII remake, as well as the equally impressive releases of the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes from Capcome, says that a wide gaming audience is not only ready for creative reinterpretations of the hits of the past, but is also waiting for them.
