The Finnish company Rovio has informed about the likely reduction of at least 35 jobs in its animation division. abcom-default-share

Layoffs threaten employees of the Finnish animation department and animators from the company’s foreign offices. 35 jobs is approximately 10% of the total number of studio employees.

Rovio representatives noted that the decision to reduce the staff will not affect the release of new games and cartoons in any way.

In the last three years, Rovio has cut staff more than once. In 2014 and 2015, the Finnish publisher laid off 370 employees during the restructuring of the business.

Nevertheless, Rovio remains on the rise thanks to the success of its game series and the full-length cartoon Angry Bird Movie. The studio continues to work on the second part of Angry Birds.

Rovio Studio is internationally known for the Angry Birds franchise, which has gained huge popularity among players and viewers.
