The author of the Might and Magic series of games, John Van Caneghem, will develop mobile games. To this end, he founded the VC Mobile Entertainment studio.
The company has already received financing in the amount of $4.5 million. Investors include Chinese giant Tencent and Pacific Sky Investments.
The studio already has a development team. However, Kanegem does not talk about future projects yet.
Kanegem believes that the decision to go to mobile is quite natural. Mobile games that “can be played anywhere” are the future of the industry, he is sure.
“It seems to me that the most exciting times have come for game dev. Now the game can have such an audience that it was impossible to imagine some two years ago. Each of these people can find, download and play your game from almost anywhere on the planet on a powerful device, which is available throughout the day. And it’s amazing,” Kanegem shared.
