One of the co-founders of Boomlagoon, Tuomas Erikoinen, has left the team. A native of Rovio launches his own studio called Part Time Monkey.

The new project of the former art lead “angry birds” is experimental.

Erikoinen finances the studio out of his own pocket. That is why, according to him, he can allow himself to look for his own path, which differs from the philosophy that dominates the mobile games market. Erikoinen plans to release games that “put gameplay first, not a meta-game.”

In the near future, Erikoinen plans to launch the game in the App Store and Google Play. By his own admission, he does not expect the project to pay off or attract users, but just wants to understand how the game is made – starting from the basics.

The project on which Erikoinen is going to study is already ready. It’s called Tim — The Unsatisfied Artist, and gameplay is a copy of Flappy Bird. It is not yet known whether it will become a frituplein or a paid one. But Erikoinen has already stated that the next title will be premium.

Recall that the studio Boomlagoon recently announced the release of the third project in a row.

The first two were Noble Nutlings and the runner Monsu with elements of a card game.
