Jam City Studio, the developer and publisher of Cookie Jam (64th place in the box office top of App Store apps in the USA) and Panda Pop (57th place in the box office top of App Store apps in the USA), is entering the market of text-based mobile games.
The company has released the Twist application as part of the softlonch. This is a collection of interactive short stories in the spirit of Hooked and Last Hope Line.
In the game, the user selects the appropriate story. Each unfolds in the format of text correspondence. The player reads the characters’ lines, and sometimes makes a choice for them.
Usually, such projects are monetized either by the paywall of the main content, or by a timer that does not immediately allow you to read the continuation, forcing you to wait for several hours for the denouement or the event after the cliffhanger.
As you can see from the screenshots of Twist, this game is not limited to such functionality. It has two currencies. One – receipts – is spent on access to content. The second currency – crystals – allows you to choose additional options in the conversation.
The game also supports subscription. Weekly will cost $ 2.99, annual – $39.99.
The project has been released only on Android so far.
