Apple banned changing screenshots in the App Store after the app was published. It is assumed that this will protect users from unscrupulous developers.

As soon as he went on vacation at the end of December 2012, a scandal broke out. Several developers have posted “authentic” versions of Halo 4 for mobile devices at once. It is clear that they had nothing to do with the popular game. But the application pages were neatly decorated, including screenshots from the console game, which, along with the name and description, misled users.

Apparently, in order to avoid such practices in the future, as well as to protect users from unscrupulous developers, Apple, according to iGuides, decided to prohibit changing screenshots for applications after the app.

iOS developers have confirmed to us that the function of changing screenshots has disappeared in iTunes Connect. It is now possible to update screenshots only if an update is released.
