Tencent has launched the official website of its new streaming platform Start. A closed beta test of the new product has been announced, in which residents of Shanghai and Guangdong will be able to take part.

It is not known when exactly the PTA will begin and how long it will last. At the same time, the site accepts applications from residents of other regions of China to participate in the open beta test.

There is little information about the Tencent platform. There is a possibility that Unity provides support to the company during the development of Start. The engine manufacturer announced at GDC 2019 that it is cooperating with the Chinese giant in the field of cloud streaming.

Also, according to TechWeb, Start is not the Instant Play streaming service that was reported last month. The latter is being developed by Tencent together with Intel.

The Chinese giant is not new to the streaming services market at all. He launched the Penguin Esports platform, invested a large sum in Huya and Douyu, and also acquired Bilibili shares.

Let’s add that the news about Start missed the announcement of a new cloud service from Google — Stadia for a week.
