When the publishing division is closed, 13 employees will be laid off.
And again about mass layoffs. This time, part of Techland’s staff will be reduced. The Polish company will close the division responsible for publishing and distributing games in its homeland.
The division will close by the end of the year. 13 people will lose their jobs. However, according to the Polish website Graczpospolita, Techland is already firing people little by little.
Techland confirmed the publication Gamesindustry.biz, which is really preparing to close the division at the end of this year. However, the publisher emphasizes that nothing threatens his business (including thanks to last year’s sales growth of Dying Light). The development of Dying Light 2 and the process of publishing God’s Trigger will continue in the same mode.
Speaking about future cuts, Techland promised severance pay and employment assistance to all those laid off.
February is rich in news about layoffs in game development. In this regard, Activision Blizzard, Gameloft, ArenaNet, Firemonkeys and Next Games, as well as the GOG store were affected.
