The gross income of the Supercell startup has reached $ 1 million per day, according to journalists from PandoDaily and The Next Web, citing their sources in the Finnish company.
Just three months ago, Supercell told the New York Times that its iOS projects Hay Day and Clash of Clans earn more than $500,000 a day and about $15 million a month. A month later, in November, the gross revenue of the games has already reached $ 750 thousand per day. At the same time, at that time, the company’s operating costs were about $ 60 thousand per day.
In the same November, App Annie analysts put Supercell in first place in the top of the highest-grossing iOS companies. Finns have overtaken companies such as Electronic Arts, GREE and DeNA. Again, for comparison, EA has 969 applications in the Apple market, and Supercell, as already mentioned, has only two.
Distimo also placed Supercell in the top of the highest-grossing companies, only already at the end of the whole year. The startup turned out to be the only company in the top ten, not counting Apple, which earns only on iOS. The rest sell games on Android as well.
Now, according to the portal The Next Web and PandoDaily, the Finnish company earns about $1 million a day on its products minus Apple’s share.
However, looking at these impressive figures, you should not think that Supercell immediately came to success. Before the release of Hay Day in June 2012 and Clash of Clans in July 2012, two hardcore Finns projects failed: the isometric cyberpunk MMORPG Gunshine and the turn-based tactical strategy Battle Buddies in the style of X-com.
Both projects were initially focused on hardcore players. This, apparently, did not allow them to “shoot”. As a result, the company turned to simpler and more understandable mechanics for the mass player.
