The Swedish company King has stopped operating its South Korean branch.

Local sources claim that the developer of the mobile hit Candy Crush Saga has curtailed activities in the country. The studio’s game projects in South Korea are now managed from Sweden or by local distributors.

It is not yet known how many employees of the company will be affected by the decision to close the office.

Unlike the USA and In the UK, where Candy Crush series games do not leave the Top 10 apps in the App Store, King Studio has to fight hard to achieve the same heights in the South Korean charts.

At the end of February this year, the most popular King game among the Korean audience turned out to be Candy Crush Soda Saga, which took 67th place in the list of App Store applications. Other titles of the company: Candy Crush Jelly, Candy Crush Saga and Farm Heroes Saga were on 133, 212 and 567 places.
