The founder of Strategic Music in his personal YouTube channel during a skirmish with users said that he spent the money collected during crowdfunding on Fallout 4 on vacation. As it turned out: the service with which the money was collected, Strategic Music did not give them away.
In January 2016 on the crowdfunding service Planeta.ru The campaign to raise funds for the Russian voiceover for the Fallout 4 game has ended. The requested amount of 3.2 million rubles was not collected. Users have invested 450 thousand rubles during the campaign.
The campaign was launched by Dmitry Kuzmenko, founder of Strategic Music recording studio and co-founder of Tigrido, which develops mobile games.
On December 12, Kuzmenko posted a video on his YouTube channel with his own version of the voiceover of the trailer for the game Last of Us 2: Through the Valley. During the discussion of the video, users asked how things were going with the voiceover of Fallout 4. Kuzmenko replied that “we collected some of the money, but we had to go to another country for work and all that part of the money was spent on it. Therefore, the work has been suspended for the time being. We will organize a new gathering soon.”
The discussion can be found here. Note that the correspondence was emotional.
Representative of the crowdservice Planeta.ru Irina Borisova in conversation with App2Top.ru she noted that “the authors [of the comments] misinformed the audience.” The fact is that the project is on Planeta.ru I did not collect the required amount, which means that the money was not transferred: “The project “Russian voiceover of Fallout 4″ on our platform was not completed successfully. Of the stated goal of 3.2 million rubles, they attracted only 450,000 rubles. This means that the team did NOT receive money based on the results of this crowd campaign, and all funds have already been returned to the sponsors.”
The comment we received from Kuzmenko with a request to comment on the situation sounds like this: “I work for a wonderful company Tigrido, voice acting is a hobby that we do together with my wife Ekaterina. I only invest my money there and get nothing for it. I just like translating and voicing. And I want people to see that the Russian language is very beautiful and cool.”
Kuzmenko also noted on his Facebook page: “a year ago we were raising money for an unofficial (there was no official) professional voice acting of Fallout 4. The company’s goal was 3,200,000 rubles. Unfortunately, the company ended at ~ 450,000 rubles” (…) “The essence of crowdfunding is that if the target amount is not collected, the money is returned to depositors.”
