Square Enix was left by Isamu Kamikokuryo and Yoshinori Yamagishi, each of whom gave the studio about 20 years.
Isamu Kamikokure has been the art director of Final Fantasy games since the tenth part. He has also worked on Final Fantasy 12, Final Fantasy 13/13–2 and Final Fantasy 15. He worked at Square Enix for 18 years in total. He announced his departure on Twitter on March 31.
Kamikokure wrote that he intended to work as a freelancer. Isamu thanked the company and colleagues for the opportunity to reveal his talent and said that he wanted to move forward and draw new things.
The next day, April 1, the studio’s lead producer Yoshinori Yamagishi, who has worked at Square Enix for more than twenty years, announced his departure. He has worked on titles such as Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile.
I'm thinking about working on a new game in another company, so I hope for your support. I reported this on April 1, so it's up to you to believe me or not to believe me!
