The Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee (Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee/GRAC) has closed access to all game titles presented on the Facebook social network to the residents of Hanguk.
This is due to the introduction of the Game Industry Promotion Act, according to which all games should be exposed to one of five age ratings. The act was established back in December 2013, but, apparently, in order for the developers to take it seriously, the Korean government had to go to extreme measures.
It is unclear how the games will be returned to the local Facebook, but according to the rules, developers must submit an application to receive a rating, after which a commission consisting of at least 9 reputable people (professors, lawyers) will evaluate their game within 15 days.
By the way, the act was adopted, wishing, among other things, to settle the issue with social and online casinos.
