Yesterday, several other gaming companies announced that they were leaving the Russian and/or Belarusian markets. The list includes Sony Interactive Entertainment, WarnerMedia, Rovio and others.

  • Jason Kilar, CEO of WarnerMedia, told Variety about the suspension of the company’s activities in Russia. This includes “the termination of broadcasting channels, licensing of new content and the suspension of planned releases of films and games.” In 2022, for example, Hogwarts Legacy and Gotham Knights should be released.
  • Rovio has published its own statement on LinkedIn. The creators of Angry Birds wrote that they removed their games from mobile stores in Russia and Belarus, including from Google Play and the App Store. Users will no longer be able to make in-game purchases and updates will not be available to them.
  • Polish CI Games, known for the Sniper: Ghost Warrior series, also announced the termination of sales of its games in Russia and Belarus “in the foreseeable future.” Now she is communicating with partners to remove all copies of games from digital and physical stores.
  • Bungie has started “working with partners to suspend all Destiny 2 sales in Russia and Belarus,” the company’s website says. Users from these regions will still be able to play the game they have already purchased. However, now they will not be able to buy add-ons and in-game currency.

It also became known yesterday that Supercell removed its games from digital stores in Russia and Belarus. She has such hits as Clash Royale, Clash of Clans and Braw Stars to her credit.
