More than 2.5 million copies of Shovel Knight have been sold worldwide. This was proudly announced by the developers of Yacht Club Games in honor of the fifth anniversary of the game.

Initially, the title was released on PC, Wii U and 3DS, and later moved to OS X, Linus, PS3 and current-generation consoles. The release of the game on Switch last year allowed to increase its revenue by 115%.
Shovel Knight will soon have two additional campaigns: King of Cards and Showdown. But, according to Yacht Club Games, these are separate independent games. Previously, the Shovel of Hope, Plague of Shadows and Specter of Torment campaigns were released under the title Shovel Knight.
Shovel Knight is a classic platformer. It was created under the inspiration of old 8-bit games. Recently it turned out that the developers chose an original approach to development and created a 2D platformer based on a 3D engine.
