The Japanese company Sega has seriously taken up the mobile market. The publisher is going to release four video games for iOS and Android, including the classic platformer Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and a brand new project Demon Tribe. This is reported by Polygon.

The company will release Sonic 2 for iOS and Android devices next month. Note that the game was released for iOS in April 2010, but that version of the platformer did not support Retina displays and widescreen format. The updated release for iOS will be offered as a free add-on for everyone who has already spent $2.99 on the old game. In addition, it will be the premiere of Sonic 2 on Android.

In winter, Sega will release Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed from Sumo Digital Studio on iOS and Android. The mobile version includes the World Tour mode, which is specially designed for “running games”. Also, the project has a local and network multiplayer for four.

Demon Tribe will also be released on iOS devices. This is an interesting project that combines elements of a collectible card game and MOBA with elements of action/ RPG. The announcement took place at the Tokyo Game Show last year. The entertainment was produced by the famous developer Masayoshi Kikuchi, who took part in the creation of Yakuza, Panzer Dragoon and Jet Set Radio.

Sega is also going to transfer the Rhythm Thief & the Paris Caper game to Apple platforms. The premiere will take place in early 2014. This will be the sequel to the Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure adventure for the Nintendo 3DS.
