Newzoo continues to regularly post reports on the most popular Android games in China. This time she has prepared a small report on the cash top for June. Let’s see which games a month ago spent the largest amount in China.

Самые кассовые Android-игры Китая начала лета

Let’s start with the last positions:

10th place: West Arena (乱斗西游22)

While some Chinese companies use the Dota style, others quite successfully reproduce its mechanics on a mobile platform. Why is it successful? The tenth place in the total box office of the largest Android stores is definitely a success (in the west, so far with mobile MOBA, it’s not that bad at all, it’s just that apart from the Vainglory, which has not yet demonstrated either large downloads or revenues, it doesn’t really cling to anything).

9th place: Clash of Clans

We will not stop here, but, in principle, it is clear that the European origin of the game does not prevent making money in Asian markets (and Supercell in China promotes the game independently).

8th place: We Fight (WE Fight)

MMORPG, which visually resembles beat ’em up very much, is a rare guest here, but not in the east.

By the way, Newzoo is not quite right when calling the project Tian Tian Xuan Dou, which is nothing more than a transcribed version of the original name. The official Western name of the game is We Fight, it is a spinoff of the PC fighting game Xuan Dou Zhi Wang – King of Combat.

7th place: GunZ Dash

We have already written about this endless runner before. And I just want to note that in the box office tops, this genre was not observed anywhere else, except in Asia. Another thing is that we are not sure that someone outside of this region is ready to play such an overloaded runner with additional mechanics.

6th place: Fantasy Westward Journey

Browser-based MMORPGs (as a special offshoot of the genre, characterized by budget graphics, heavy UI, numerous conventions that are far from current standards, and not in the strict sense, of course) earn a lot of money on mobile platforms in China. Fantasy Westward Journey is a great example of this. Sixth place in the top.

5th place: Space Hunter (时人人)

Another MMORPG that is easily confused with the heiress of the Streets of Rage series. Only this time it’s from Yihan Games (by the way, their project is published in the App Store by the ubiquitous Tencent). Newzoo was touched, saying that the game is similar to Hearthstone.

4th place: Minecraft

How the Mojang paid application ended up here is a sealed secret. A miracle?

3rd place: Allstar Heroes (刀塔传奇吧)

The project, which the authors of Heroes Charge inclined, still feels great on the Chinese market. The official Western name of the game is Allstar Heroes, and for some reason Newzoo continues to call it Dota Legend. However, the project does have a problem with names: there are a lot of them. Among the official ones are Dot Arena and Soul Clash.

2nd place: Happy Lord (欢乐乐地((QQ游方方方))

Here we are talking about a PvP project that vaguely resembles the card game hearts.

1st place: Anipop

Against the background of all this rampage of midcore, the game that took first place breaks the pattern – it’s quite an ordinary “three-in-a-row” with funny animals in the main roles.

And this is how the infographic of Newzoo itself looks like.
