The startup of American businessman Roni Abovitz Magic Leap was founded in 2010. The company creates innovative AR headsets in which the image is projected onto the retina of the eye. Investors invested a lot of money in the project despite the fact that the working prototype of the headset was not shown to anyone.
Today Magic Leap started accepting orders for the first batch of glasses. The minimum cost of the device is $2,295, while the glasses are delivered only to six major cities in the USA: Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Seattle.
According to the company, this batch is aimed at developers who want to evaluate the capabilities of Magic Leap and create software for this platform. The product will be widely available later, when exactly is unknown.
