App Annie specialists have published an overview of the mobile market for the second quarter of 2013.

App Annie analysts monitored the performance of the two largest competitor stores throughout April-June 2013.According to their observations, Google Play became the leader in downloads, ahead of the App Store by 10%.

This is understandable, since the number of Android devices in the world continues to grow rapidly. The growth is due to the wide popularity of budget Google phones in developing countries

The latter bring downloads, not purchases. So the App Store still earns significantly more than Google Play. The difference in sales between them is 2.3 times.80% of the money in Google Play and 75% in the App Store is brought by games.

The USA is in the top five countries for downloads on iOS devices, followed by China, Japan, the UK and Russia.

The distribution of iOS revenues is slightly different: the USA is in the lead, followed by Japan, the UK, Australia and China closes the top five.

The data for Google Play is as follows: the leaders in downloads are the USA, South Korea, India, Russia and Brazil. Top 5 by income – Japan, South Korea, USA, Germany, UK.
