Sales of the GS Gamekit game console from the domestic GS Group company have begun. All console games will be available by subscription.
The console, built on Android 4.4, went on sale today, February 17. Already now its owners can play more than 20 game projects. Most of them are games ported from the mobile platform, like Badland, Ice Rage, Nitro Nation Stories and others. However, there are exclusives. For example, an action simulator “Real Russian Hunting”, in the development of which the St. Petersburg Sperasoft took part.
GS Group promises to grow the project base to 100 titles by the end of this year. Any of them will be available to console owners in case of subscription payment. The latter is 990 rubles per year. The console itself costs 14990 rubles. This amount includes, in addition to the console itself, a gamepad and a remote control, with which, as the authors of the device told us, it is convenient to play games in the genre of “I’m looking for” (they are already in the library).
Despite the fact that earlier experiments with the launch of Android consoles did not lead to anything good (suffice it to recall the ambitious Ouya), GS Group may succeed. The fact is that the company has established sales channels. The holding is known for producing digital satellite equipment used by NTV+ and Tricolor TV. The total number of subscribers of the latter is 14 million. The console will also be distributed through Tricolor TV dealers.
