Philip GladkovHow was 2017 for you?

It is very intense — starting from the experience of repairing your apartment, ending with active professional development. Sometimes it seems that there are 30 hours in a day, but this drive only spurs interest to go further and pump new skills.

I made a long—standing dream – I flew to Japan. I liked it, a complete breakdown of templates. In general, I’ve traveled a lot, and I’m not going to stop in 2018.

How was the year for the company?

We have grown very much, both in terms of the number of audience, turnover, and the number of employees. One of the most important events is that we, like, have just started making new games, and now they are almost ready for softlonch. On the one hand, it’s very cool, on the other hand, it’s very difficult in terms of increasing the number of people, complicating the structure and changing some processes.

There are also several competitors of War Robots.

In general, our guys have grown a lot over the year.

As usual, a year has passed in two!

An important reason for pride for me: on sites such as Habrahabr, Forbes, DTF and many others, you can find articles by the guys from Pixonic, since we decided to share our experience a long time ago in order to develop Russian game development as a whole. Since the market teaches us, we also do not stand aside and share our experience.

What event of 2017 do you consider the most important for the industry?

For me, the exit and instant take-off of Last Day on Earth: Survival was important. This is a confirmation that “AAA graphics, ultra script, endless marketing budgets” are not silver bullets.

The main thing is that the game:

  • it was made with love by an experienced team of developers who are burning with the idea;
  • was targeted at an existing or new market.

In this case, the game was focused on the supernova market and on hype zombies and PUBG.

It is impossible not to note the amazing growth of Playrix, getting into the Top 52 developers in the world.

It’s inspiring.

We can make top games, there is an example, now there are no excuses that we have no experience in our country and so on.

What trends of the outgoing year would you note?

I would note cryptocurrency — it is, in fact, a very significant trend.

Among the games, PUBG played an important role in the development of the Battle Royale genre. And here I agree with Igor — the trend for next year has been set and it will be possible to observe the appearance of new games in this genre.

And spinners, of course.

Today, the main trend of late spring – early summer has already begun to be forgottenName the third-party projects of this year that you liked the most.

I’m a fan of PUBG — we play with a platoon from Pixonic, quite often we take the Top 1!
