The head of marketing at PlayFlock, Ksenia Maslova , said App2Top.ru about how the year went for her company.

Ksenia MaslovaHow was 2017 for you?

I am a fan of travel (both long and short). In 2017, I visited several new countries and cities, including the first time I was on the other side of the Atlantic. I also made a two-week road trip to the Crimea, which I undeservedly ignored in the past.

I also attended several cool conferences, and at one of them – VK High Score – I made a presentation for young developers. There were a lot of acquaintances with interesting people with whom we continue to maintain relations.

If we talk about what took place inside our company, we had a lot of launches (more on this below), which were accompanied by a lot of marketing experiments. Not all of them were successful, but definitely all were useful in terms of experience.

How was the year for the company?

For PlayFlock, this year was marked by development and development! We never stand still and every year we set new goals, try new game genres, make positive changes within our team.

We will remember 2017 with the largest number of projects in the work.

This year we launched five new projects on social and mobile platforms, and also managed to revise one of them – Holy TD. Just the other day we released it on Steam. By the way, this is our first project launched on a paid model.

Holy TD
Within the company, we have successfully implemented internal trainings for staff that enhance both personal and professional qualities.

In addition, our employees took part in a number of conferences.

We have introduced new technologies that help interaction within the team. For example, we switched to a task tracker, fully developed within our company.

Looking back at the outgoing year and summing up, we are ready to say that it was a year of productive work and bright achievements for the PlayFlock team!

What event of 2017 do you consider the most important for the industry?

One of the most important events in the industry is Adobe’s announcement of the termination of support and distribution of Flash technology. In fact, this is the end of an era: developers will have to re-profile, switch to other technologies, and a number of sites will have to close. However, it is clear that new ones will take their place.

What trends of the outgoing year would you note?

This year, the growth of the mobile gaming industry continued. The market is getting bigger and its saturation is far enough away.

I would like to note that gaming platforms are actively working to make it easier for developers to establish contact with their audience. Popular mobile platforms work with their app stores to show users exactly the games that will be most interesting to them. They become more open and engage in dialogue with developers. VK High Score, which I mentioned just above, is a good example in this regard.

The VR and AR trends already outlined in the past continue to develop.

Name the third-party projects of this year that you liked the most.

I’m a casual player. Therefore, I would like to mention the Homescapes game from Playrix – this is a really high-quality and beautiful match-3 game. By the way, the installation data says that this is not just my opinion.
