Year for the company

For Playrix, it was, without exaggeration, the most successful year in the company’s history. We released the Gardenscapes game, which became our third mobile hit, along with Township and Fishdom. The success of Gardenscapes has helped us to become one of the three largest mobile developers in Europe (according to App Annie), which of course our whole team is very proud of.

Event of the year in the world

I remember the success of Pokémon GO the most. I have never seen such an impact of mobile games on everyday life. Crowds of people in unexpected places, coverage in all the news. Who hasn’t played this game! It was very unexpected and fresh.

Trend of the year

It can be traced that the direction of VR is gaining momentum. It was a transitional year for the technology, but it is clear that it is gradually moving to the ordinary consumer from the field of “science fiction”. However, so far, in my opinion, the content for the platform leaves much to be desired. It’s interesting to see what will happen with VR next year.

Game of the Year

Personally, for me as a player, it was Blizzard’s Overwatch. At least judging by the amount of time I spent in it compared to all other games.

I would also single out Clash Royale as the mobile game of the year. Another example of the fact that Supercell knows its business. They actually created a whole genre. Surely 2017 will be held under the influx of a bunch of clones.
