There are permutations in the Gearbox Entertainment manual. Randy Pitchford is no longer the president of the division that develops games. Instead, former technical director Steve Jones (Steve Jones) will become the head of Gearbox Software.

Pitchford announced this at a quarterly meeting. Nevertheless, Pitchford does not leave the company completely. He will remain CEO and president of the entire Gearbox Entertainment, and will also run Gearbox Studios. This is a newly created division that works with films and TV series based on the company’s games.

If necessary, Pitchford will act as a “hybrid” chief creative officer. He reserves the right to creatively influence Gearbox Software projects.

Gearbox Entertainment was founded in 1999 by five people from Rebel Boat Rocker, including Pitchford. It is divided into three divisions: Gearbox Software Studio, Gearbox Publishing and Gearbox Studios film department. Among the most famous titles of the company are the Borderlands and Brothers in Arms franchises, as well as the Duke Nukem Forever game.

This February, Gearbox Entertainment became part of the Swedish Embracer Group holding.
