In early November, the QuizUp title from the Icelandic developer Plain Vanilla got into the top 10 by the number of downloads of the American App Store.

Plain Vanilla was willing to spend up to $1 million to acquire users. However, a large number of downloads made it possible to curtail the advertising campaign. As a result, the game took first place in the American and British tops, spending only part of the advertising budget.

According to the CEO of Plain Vanilla, initially the company was aimed only at developing titles for iOS. However, the success of QuizUp made its employees think about porting the popular title. The Android version should be released in January 2014.

The success of QuizUp is accompanied by financial support from investors. During the first round of financing, Plain Vanilla received $3.6 million, and during the second – another $ 2 million.
