The creator of PUBG is increasing the staff of Glen Schofield’s studio — Striking Distance. It includes former Call of Duty and Dead Space developers and three artists of the bankrupt Telltale.
The California team, which is owned by PUBG Corp., was joined by Senior Visual Effects Director Demetrius Leal, lead concept artist Jessy Lee, Development Director Steve Papoutsis and Chief Creative Officer Christopher Stone. These people worked on the games of the Call of Duty series, as well as Dead Space. Striking Distance hired them in July.
Another addition to the team is artists Robin Cho (Robin Chyo), Aasim Zubair (Aasim Zubair) and Zhu Xu (Zhuosi Xu). These are natives of Telltale, which closed last year, according to Videogamer. They also switched to Striking Distance last month.
About the departure of Glen Schofield to the new studio PUBG Corp. it was reported in June. The task of Striking Distance was to create a narrative within the framework of PUBG lore. The studio is not working on any sequel to the “battle royale”.
