Iraq has followed the example of Nepal and the Indian state of Gujarat: PUBG is now banned in it. However, the country’s parliament went even further and at the same time banned Fortnite.
The resolution of the Parliament prohibits the population from playing PUBG with Fortnite and making any financial transactions related to them. This was reported by the CBC today. Ordinary residents immediately criticized the government’s initiative on social networks. In their opinion, the authorities have incorrectly set priorities and are wasting time on unnecessary bills.
The authorities explained that both popular battle royales should be boycotted “because of the negative impact on the health, culture and safety of society,” and “also in connection with the social and moral threat to children and youth.” Nepal, which banned PUBG at the beginning of the month, was guided by the same considerations.
We also recall that in a number of Indian cities in Gujarat, PUBG was promised to be banned only during exams. In the first week, the police arrested 10 people who were playing the “battle royale”. Later, in one of the settlements — Ahmedabad — the ban was indeed lifted.
