In Poland, unique conditions have developed that encourage small studios to go public. In today's extensive article, we discuss the reasons behind this phenomenon, the specifics of local exchanges, and state support.

How is the Polish exchange structured, and why do local developers choose it?

The market for public companies in Poland is divided into two sectors. Twenty-four gaming developers and publishers are listed on the main Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE), while over 70 studios are traded on the subsidiary NewConnect, an alternative exchange established in 2007 specifically for small companies.

The leading studio on the market remains CD Projekt—the only game developer in the WIG20 index (the top 20 most liquid Polish companies). There is also the WIG.Games5 index, which, besides the creators of "The Witcher," includes 11 bit studios, Ten Square Games, Huuge, and CI Games. However, as mentioned above, the majority consists of smaller studios.
