A new publisher has appeared in Poland. Former Techland developers decided to release games themselves and launched a startup called Untold Tales. The publisher’s priority is single—player titles with an intriguing plot.
As Techland veterans tell us, the idea to create their own publishing house did not come to them immediately. All ten people of the Untold Tales team have come a long way and managed to work on loud titles: Witcher, Bad Blood, Dying Light, The Sinking City, etc. In the process, the developers encountered the “shadow side of publishers” and decided to get rid of it.
The main goal of Untold Tales is to make the relationship between developers and publisher as transparent as possible.
We don't need rights to your IP. We don't need a share of the revenue. We will not require you to release something that is not ready yet and may ruin the reputation of your studio.
Vice President Untold Tales
Drabik also clarified that the publisher intends to make decisions based on data and feedback from the community. This will allow you to invest time and resources only in what is really useful for developers and players.
In addition, Untold Tales plans to selectively approach those games that it will release. Although the company does not limit itself in the genre, it will give preference to single-player titles with fascinating gameplay and plot. At the same time, the publisher is going to release no more than a few games per year.
We will only focus on one or two games at a time. This will show our developers that we care about them both during and after the creation of the game. We don't want them to feel like they're just doing another title among ten others of the same.

The new publisher is already preparing three games for release: The Hong Kong Massacre for Nintendo Switch, Beautiful Desolation for PS4 and Switch, as well as a title for PC and consoles, the name of which is not disclosed.
