It is not yet known about the sales of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, but the game already has something to brag about. She got a big background stretch on the Steam homepage. Previously, no domestic premium project has received such a feature on the Valve* platform.

Game feature

Ilya Salamatov, the founder of META Publishing, which was engaged in the launch of the game, said this on Facebook.

In conversation with App2Top.ru he noted that this is not a Steam initiative: “It is very necessary to agree on such things in advance. And if you’re lucky, magic will happen.”

Ilya also said that to get such a feature, outstanding indicators are needed. These include: pre-order numbers, the number of players, revenue on the first day, or all this in combination.

By the way, it turns out that the feature should have happened earlier, even in the week of launch. However, it was postponed due to the 505 Games anniversary sale.

  • Addendum 1: The feature turned out to be not weekly. He was hanged for a short time. He’s gone now.Addendum 2: earlier, a similar feature, it turns out, after all, one Russian game received.
  • It’s about World of Warships, which was developed by the St. Petersburg Lesta Studio. Steam made this game in 2017.Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

The publisher is not ready to name sales figures yet.

However, Ilya noticed that both META Publishing and the game developer are happy with them.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is a classic party isometric CRPG in the spirit of Baldure’s Gate and Icewind Dale. The game is an indirect sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker, released in 2018 and has since sold 1 million copies. Both titles performed well on Kickstarter. Wrath of the Righteous scored $ 2 million (a record for a Russian project), and Kingmaker — $ 900 thousand.

Both the first and the second are developments of the Russian studio Owlcat Games, originally founded as a division of MY.GAMES, but then became independent. Among its employees are Nival natives who were responsible for such classics as “Allods“, “Demiurges“, “Operation Silent Storm” and Heroes of Might and Magic V.

Today, MY.GAMES remains a strategic partner and investor for Owlcat Games. Also, one of its investors is GEM Capital, which has invested a million dollars in the studio.
