An international company with Ukrainian companies, Room 8 Group, specializing in outsourcing, has decided to terminate cooperation with specialists from Russia and Belarus. The company announced its decision on March 4 on the official Facebook page.
Room 8 has taken the following measures:
- terminate contracts with contractors supporting a special operation in Ukraine;to refuse further cooperation with companies whose headquarters are located in Russia and Belarus;
- stop hiring employees living in Russia and Belarus;
- refuse to consider Russian and Belarusian companies for the acquisition and expansion of business;
- to stop cooperation with specialists who support the policy of Russia and Belarus.
- Separately, Room 8 stressed that all current specialists from Russia and Belarus will be able to continue working only if they change their place of residence.
The company stated that it will continue to help its Ukrainian employees (now there are more than 800 people). Also, Room 8 will direct all its profits for 2022 to “support numerous programs aimed at the restoration and development of independent Ukraine and assistance to Ukrainian refugees.”
Earlier, many other gaming companies came out in support of Ukraine. Among them are Ubisoft, 11 bit studios, Raw Fury, GSC Game World, Supercell, Frogwares, Unity and Quantic Dreams. Some of them donated money directly, and some offered assistance to Ukrainian employees and other initiatives.
Also, more and more companies are announcing the complete or partial suspension of their activities in Russia, including Microsoft, CD Projekt, Steam, Google, Meta, Rockstar, Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts.
