The list of companies that have stopped selling their games in Russia is getting longer. Now it includes Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts (EA).
As Activision Blizzard stated in the official blog of the company, it stops “new sales of games” in Russia. She does not intend to resume them until the situation in Ukraine is over.
As for EA, it has suspended the sale of games not only in Russia, but also in Belarus. Moreover, sales of in-game content, including currency sets, also came under the knife.
So far, Russian and Belarusian gamers cannot buy games in the Origin digital store and on other platforms of the company. However, EA is working with partners to stop selling on other sites as well.
Earlier, EA decided to remove Russian teams from the FIFA and NHL series.
Both Activision Blizzard and EA have assured that they will continue to monitor the situation. If necessary, they will report new actions.
Recently, many large gaming and technology companies have left the Russian market. For example, a few days ago, CD Projekt and the Bloober Team announced the suspension of game sales. And yesterday Microsoft stopped selling its products and services.
