A large outsourced video game developer Virtuos intends to invest $30 million in the creation and purchase of new studios. Gilles Langourieux, the company’s CEO, spoke about the company’s plan for the next two years.
“We want to get closer to our customers, so we need to open new branches in America, Europe, Japan and other parts of Asia,” Langurier explained.
According to the head of Virtuos, the company hired the former head of Sony Europe external development John Key. Currently, he is working with a list of more than 300 studios, identifying potential partners who may become part of Virtuos in the future.
Virtuos already has 7 offices in China, Vietnam, France and Ireland.
On the eve of Virtuos attracted $15 million in investments and moved its headquarters from Shanghai to Singapore, where it expects to create more than 100 new jobs over the next 5 years.
Virtuos was founded in 2004. During its existence, the company has worked on more than 1 thousand game projects, including such AAA projects as Horizon Zero Dawn, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age and L. A. Noir.
