The Battle for Azeroth addon for the role-playing MMO game World of Warcraft has beaten the sales figures of the first day of all previous additions to the popular online project of Blizzard Entertainment.
According to Activision-Blizzard, sales of Battle for Azeroth on the day of release on August 14 amounted to 3.4 million copies. According to the publisher, the seventh expansion for WoW has become one of the fastest-selling PC titles in the company’s history.
The release of the new addon was preceded by a change in the World of Warcraft monetization model, in which the company refused to sell the basic version of the game separately, leaving only a monthly subscription. But to access the content of Battle for Azeroth, players will still have to buy an add-on for $ 50.
